I can't believe it is already Tuesday, and I'm already off on my first weekend trip to Amsterdam Thursday morning! (if you have suggestions for places, let me know!!. I have realized that traveling aboard is about experiencing new cultures, learning, having fun, and figuring out logistics. I'm in a very sticky situation, which i spent the last couple days really going over and trying to figure out what would make my experience the best i can. My host family lives about an hour commute away from Differdange, where Miami campus is. The majority of the students live in Differdange and tend to all hang out after school and into the night. Because i live so far away my train ride home at night goes like this: i have to take the train to the station in Lux City which is 40 minutes, then i go and wait at the bus stop for 20minutes to catch the bus, then follows about a 5 minutes walk from the bus stop to my house. Normally i don't mind commuting, i actually tend to like using public transportation when i travel, i get a better feel for the people living there, a more everyday life feel, but in my case i'm not fully comfortable with traveling this distance and time by myself every morning and night, especially the nighttime. The last couple of nights i have had to leave my friends and have missed hang outs where the students in the program bonded because i had to catch the train back before the buses stopped running at 11. I understand there is always glitches in traveling, but i just feel like my experience is not what is should be, and simply because of my isolation from the rest of the students and town. The factor that is really making this hard is that i really like my host family, just their house is not exactly placed perfectly for my stay. With the cultural differences like etiquette and what not, it makes it hard for me to confront my family about possibly moving to a different house closer, i want to make sure they understand that its not them or anything they did, but something that i need to do to have the experience that i wanted through the Miami Study Aboard. So yea that has been my situation these last couple days. On a different topic, classes are good, they are giving us a lot of reading though which is kind of a pain, but interesting to be learning about Europe while we are here and get to experience it first hand and relate certain things to our travels. Ah look at the time, i need to go, so i can wake up at 6am tomorrow!
Au Revoir!

ah honey, so proud of you for really thinking this thru. I know this must be a difficult decision. Glad you are being sensitive and realistic. Good luck! Lots of hugs to you
If they're as wonderful as they sound, they would surely understand? But you're right -- it's tricky! (to rock a rhyme.... )
